A remote wanderer鈥檚 dream
Chase Johnson, a member of 博亚国际娱乐城鈥檚 interactive marketing team, has always been known in the office as a spirited person who invents quirky challenges 鈥� like doing something that scared him every day for a month. So, it was no surprise to hear that Chase and his girlfriend, Meg Leberknight, left Salt Lake City, home of 博亚国际娱乐城鈥檚 headquarters, to explore the U.S. and work fully remote for a year.
鈥淚鈥檝e never lived outside of Utah before. I started dating my girlfriend right around when the pandemic hit, and she鈥檚 well-traveled. So, we devised this plan where we would go live somewhere different every quarter for a year,鈥� says Chase.
They hit the road and explored Pittsburgh first 鈥� because of the low cost of living and proximity to Meg鈥檚 parents. Then they made their way to Seattle, where Chase has a network of friends. Now they are enjoying some time in Las Vegas.
鈥淚 am able to do my job and have the freedom to do the other things in my life,鈥� Chase says.
And to his surprise, being remote hasn鈥檛 stalled his career either. He recently received a promotion while living his newfound nomadic life.
An introvert鈥檚 comfort zone
UX designer Kelly Glen is one of the many 博亚国际娱乐城 employees who doesn鈥檛 live near any of 博亚国际娱乐城鈥檚 offices, which are located in Connecticut, North Carolina, South Florida, and Utah.
Although she鈥檚 the sole member of 博亚国际娱乐城鈥檚 digital team, which is located in Dallas, Texas, she says she鈥檚 really enjoying her first work-from-home job after years of working in-house at agencies.
鈥淚 think working virtually has opened up many opportunities for people to be more relaxed and have work/life balance. Most of the time, I stay in sweats all day,鈥� Kelly says.
Her 10-person team is now based in various states across the U.S., but they always find ways to stay connected and engaged.
鈥淚 don鈥檛 feel disconnected from my leader. We have an awesome relationship, and we鈥檝e only met in person once. He and anybody that I need to talk to are always just a click away, whether it鈥檚 Zoom, Teams, or Slack,鈥� explains Kelly.

鈥淭hey鈥檙e really good about sending out DoorDash gift cards, or whatever else, to make sure the people who are remote can participate in lunches and other activities,鈥� she says.
鈥淓verybody is super smart, and our digital org moves fast. There鈥檚 always an eye on improving technologies and everything else that we鈥檙e making. The best way I could describe the digital org is that it鈥檚 a startup experience with the backing of a billion-dollar company,鈥� says Kelly.
A parent鈥檚 lifesaver
Our sales teams have been just as successful with the hybrid work model as our business partners. Jennifer Cannon is a leader of our associate recruitment team for our division based in Boca Raton, Florida. Her team works at hyper speed to support sales consultants and their healthcare providers. Jennifer is the first one to admit they haven鈥檛 missed a beat since changing to a remote environment.
鈥淚 think the team has really excelled working from home,鈥� says Jennifer.
And she believes virtual work has increased efficiency for leadership, as well. 鈥淲hen we were all in the office, going from meeting to meeting took time. I feel like I personally have more time to do work,鈥� she says.
That extra time has benefitted her personal life as well. No more 40-minute commute means more quality time to go around 鈥� and it鈥檚 been a game changer for her family.
鈥淢y husband works overnight and watches the kids in the morning. It's been nice for him because I鈥檝e been able to help them on my lunch break now and let him sleep a little bit longer,鈥� she says.
Since Jennifer values her work-from-home life so much, as a leader she encourages her people to embrace this ever-evolving world of work to see what will help them to achieve their personal best work/life balance.
鈥淚 encourage my people to ask if they want a different schedule. If you don't ask, the answer is always going to be, no. But if you do ask, we can maybe see if it's something that works,鈥� Jennifer says.
When remote work is a necessity
Social media specialist Sarah Kuntz says she had her eye on 博亚国际娱乐城 for a while 鈥� literally 鈥� when she worked across the street from our headquarters.

Working remotely has never made Sarah feel disconnected from her team, and she appreciates all the other benefits that working remotely allows her. 鈥淚 love the flexibility that working remotely provides. Not only do I feel connected to my team through chat and virtual calls, but I also get to enjoy the company of my dog, Ruth, who loves to sleep on my lap all day. The lack of commute is another major plus, as it allows me to take off the morning for a powder day and still have plenty of time in the afternoon to get work done.鈥�
